Make Wireless Power Bank

Make Wireless Power Bank easily at home using 18650 LIPO battery that can charge your phone and other wearable devices. This is very unique project to try if you love electronics.

Aim is to build really cheap DIY wireless charging from old batteries, here we guide you to make Wireless Power Bank at home.
Note that if your smartphone does not have such a function, then you should not be disappointed.

Since Chinese have come up with their own solution, namely this is a special module that is placed under the case of the smartphone.

Required Components

Here is a list of the components and tools required, the list is simple and all you need is –

  2. 18650 Rechargeable batteries 4pcs
  3. Old USB cable
  4. Connecting wires
  5. wireless charging module
  6. Switch

  1.  Soldering iron
  2. 3D Printer (Optional)
  3. Hot glue
  4. knife
  5. Superglue
  6. Double sided tape
  7. Screwdriver

4Pcs Batteries for the Power Bank

Li-ion Batteries

The main component in this project is the batteries, I have used the 18650 batteries

As a battery, we will use the soldering of four 18650 batteries. This battery format is very common, and it is very profitable to use it.

you can use old laptop batteries inside which there is an installed 18650 battery.

But if you still want to get a decent portable charger that can fully charge your smartphone at least once

So I insist to purchase of new batteries from your local market.

Note – If you have a hard time soldering the batteries use a sand paper to rough out both the terminals this will make soldering a lot easier.

The choice of suitable batteries. Let’s move on to assembling them, To do this, connect the batteries in one line using hot glue gun.

As you can see in above photos We connect the batteries in one line so that it would be easy to connect them in a parallel circuit,

In short all the “+” looked in one direction, and “-” in the other.

We strip the power wire and solder it to the batteries, as shown in the photo below.

Wireless charging module

Next step, we need a wireless charging module. We should integrate this module into one of the our case.

Note that author made his own case on a 3D printer , which you can do too, Having printed the necessary element of the case, we glue the above-said module to it with the help of glue.

After that, we need to take the Power Bank module, Our battery assembly should be solder to this module.

It should be solder into input, observing the polarity, usually such contacts on the PCB are displayed as “in +” and “in-“.

Making connections

Next step, we need a old USB cable, Using this cable, we will connect the Power Bank module to the wireless charging module.

To do this, we take the cable and with the help of nippers, bite off about 5-7cm of the cable.

Then, using a knife, cut a piece of cable, as shown in the photo below. in the end we should have the plug itself and two wires coming from it (red and black).

Preparing the cable according to the above instructions. Its wires should be solder to one of the USB outputs of the Power Bank module (preferably one that can deliver more current). Solder should be according to the polarity “+” to “+”, and “-” to “-“.

After done all electronics parts assembly Then move on to packing our electronics parts into the case, Let us remind you that the author’s body was made with a 3D printer.

We glue a couple of strips of double sided adhesive tape to the body

The switch in this case is need to turn on and off the wireless charging function, since even in standby mode it consumes part of the energy

which in this case is not good. we push the wires through the hole for the switch, solder the wires to the switch and install it in its seat.

Then we connect the case with the lid, in which the wireless charging module is integrated, by first inserting our withdrawn micro USB into the connector on the wireless charging module.

connect the cover with the main body of the case, we fasten them together with the help of screws. 

All is ready! As a result, we got a very interesting  project that can surprise your friends. Well, it is just very convenient for daily use.
