With all technology available to us in this time , it’s not hard to build wireless door lock system
I think many have heard, know or have already made automatic locks with wireless control.
such locks can be made thanks to various modern wi-fi, bluetooth and infrared control
you can also make a similar device using ordinary radio control system
in today’s article, we will talk about just a lock with your own hands, which will be controlled with a small remote control, it is very simple to make such a lock
In general, the homemade product is very interesting, so let’s not drag out with a long preface let’s go.
Required components for remote door lock system
– BO motor
– 9V batteries
– type -connectors for batteries
– small piece of plywood
– door “latch”
– medical syringe
– remote relay for 2 or 4 channels with a control panel
– metal nut
– long bolt under the nut
Required tools for this project :
– hot glue gun
– stationery knife
– soldering iron
– pencil or marker
– mini drill or screwdriver
First of all, you need to cut out the base for our castle from MDF wood , make the size convenient for you, but so that all the electronics can fit on it.
Then we take the “latch”, attach it to the plywood blank and mark with a pencil or marker the marks for the fastening points of the “latch”:
With a mini drill or screwdriver, we will drill the holes in the previously marked places, the drill should be under the screws or screws that you are going to use in it :
We install the relay module on the “legs” intended for it and also fasten it with screws and a screwdriver:
We take M-seal , which by the way is very similar to plasticine and in its initial form is very similar in properties to it,
thanks to this it can be turned into almost any shape using only your hands, which is very convenient.
Following the instructions of your plastic, form a small ring and apply it to the nut, as shown in the picture:
Then we glue it to the handle of the “latch” with the same self-hardening plastic as shown in the picture, and wait for the required amount of time until the plastic hardens:
Remote door lock system main mechanism
We take a long bolt under the nut and screw it into our blank.
Now you need to take a BO gear motor and solder a couple of wires, preferably of different colors, to his cantactams, in order to prevent mistakes when connecting:
We glue the segment from the syringe cap to the motor axis, and put the remaining half on the bolt as shown in the above picture:
Now we are testing our mechanism .
We connect the gear motor to a power source, which in our case is a 9 volt battery , after connecting the motor begins to rotate the bolt around its axis.
If you change the connection in places (changing the polarity), the motor will start moving in the other direction and the “latch” will start moving back.
If you did everything correctly and everything works for you, then you can continue building:
It is necessary to connect all our external electronics to the motor with the relay, as shown in the photo below
the blue and green wires are the wires from the motor, and the red and black wires are the powering wires.
It is necessary to remove the protection jumper from three contacts on the relay board with mini tweezers:
put the upper part of the case onto the relay module
apply a littl glue and glue two batteries, after which we put the connectors on them, observing the polarity:
Well, our door lock is ready let’s test it.
To do this, simply take the remote control from the module and press the button responsible for the relay, which starts the motor in such a way that it twists the bolt into the nut, and then which is responsible for the relay that makes the motor rotate in the opposite direction.
Thus, it turns out that one button on the remote control is responsible for opening the lock, and the second for closing.
This project is very interesting and not complicated, I think many will want to make one for themselves, in order to put it, for example, in a room, or on the opposite side of the door of a cabinet.
